Caroline Bailey, Reserves Biodiversity Officer says, "Red and yellow and pink and green - no, we're not singing a rainbow, but celebrating a cascade of equally colourful natural phenomena. Orchids and other spring flowers are natural candidates but, perhaps surprisingly, so are lichens. There is so much more to them than festooning weathered stonework to provide a creepy atmosphere in a horror movie. Come along to our Lichen Workshop and learn to use the keys to open the secrets of these unsung ecological and environmental heroes".
